Join Edmen as a casual Residential Youth Worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people living in out-of-home care. Partnering with some of Australia’s leading youth service providers, you’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience every day. This role offers the chance to empower young people to thrive in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment—turning each day into a rewarding adventure.
Shift times (these may vary):
AM: 0600 - 1400
PM: 1400 - 2200
SLEEPOVER: 2200 -0600
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
- Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
- Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
- Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
- Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.
- Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.
- Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.
✅ Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar (see full list of accepted qualifications on our website)
✅ Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher)
✅ Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
✅ NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
✅ Current First Aid & CPR certificate
✅ Obtained COVID vaccinations including a booster
✅ Minimum of 3 months paid experience as a Residential Youth Worker
✅ The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required
