✨ About You:

✅ Hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Social Work or similar (or be studying towards)
✅ Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher)
✅ Blue card & Yellow card
✅ Current First Aid & CPR certificate
✅ 3 months paid experience as a Residential Youth Worker
✅ The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required
✅ Live in a location in QLD that is a drivable distance to Ipsiwch, Toowoomba or Bundaberg
To be successful in a DIDO youth worker position, you will need to have a passion for working with young people, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote or isolated environment.

As a Residential Youth Worker, you'll be part of something extraordinary. You will provide day-to-day assistance, guidance, support, and empowerment to help young people achieve their goals.
Drive in drive out (DIDO) youth worker positions in Ipswich, Toowoomba & Bundaberg, typically involve working with young people in remote or isolated communities on a rotational basis (5 days on & 5 days off). These positions are being offered to support young people in communities that have a restricted workforce. Additional to your casual hourly rate, all DIDO employees are entitled to a Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA).

Your responsibilities will include:
- Establish a secure and nurturing home environment for at-risk young people
- Offer guidance and support with personal care requirements including meal assistance and hygiene routines
- Provide transportation for school, appointments and community activities
- Foster the development of skills and socialisation within the local community, alongside promoting positive pro-social peer interactions
- Support in the administration of medications and associated reporting requirements for children on Child Protection orders
- Provide trauma-informed care to young people who display complex behavioural issues and traumatic backgrounds
- Engage in the Trauma Recovery practice framework and undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within the first three months of your employment
