Community Care Workers - Innisfail, QLD
  
We are looking for people who have a passion for helping others. We have opportunities for Community Care Workers in the Innisfail region and are looking for motivated and compassionate staff to join our team.
  
We have a variety of participants requiring assistance and your role will focus on supporting people to be the best they can be. 
 
Duties and responsibilities can include;
  • Transport and community access assistance  
  • Capacity building, empowering customers to develop life skills in cooking, shopping, budgeting, finding and keeping a job
  • Supporting customers with community engagement and activities for improved social skills, interactions and relationships
  • Assistance with personal care (showering and toileting as required), grooming and hygiene; medication prompting and general self-care
Successful applicants will have (or be willing to obtain):
  1. Their own comprehensively insured vehicle
  2. Willingness to transport participants in own vehicle (Km’s will be reimbursed)
  3. Willingness to travel to support customers living up to 1 hr away
  4. Current Driver's licence
  5. Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  6. Current National Police Check
  7. Current Blue & Yellow Card
  8. A smart phone with internet access
  9. Recent and contactable references
  10. Cert III in Industry related discipline 
  11. Availability for weekdays and weekends
Candidates that have experience supporting people with Downs Syndrome will be highly regarded, as well as candidates who are comfortable with animals (horses in particular).
